What is the Singapore Food Tour?

The Singapore Food Tour is an immersive cultural dining experience celebrating Singapore’s UNESCO-recognized hawker culture. It offers both a Sit-Down Hawker Heritage Experience and a Hawker Stall Experience guided by local hosts.

Who owns and operates Singapore Food Tour?

We are an Australian–Singaporean owned independent food experience brand showcasing Singapore’s authentic hawker heritage through storytelling and flavor.

Do you operate every day?

Yes, daily except during major public holidays (Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali). Bookings are required in advance.

Is this a walking tour?

No. Both experiences are designed for comfort: the Sit-Down Experience is hosted indoors, and the Hawker Stall Experience focuses on one stall — no long walking routes.

What are the tour options and how long do they last?

Sit-Down Hawker Heritage: 2 hours — multi-course tasting and storytelling at Tang Tea House.
Hawker Stall Experience: 1 hour — single-stall tasting and guided storytelling.

Can I do both experiences on the same day?

Yes. Many guests book the Hawker Stall Experience in the afternoon and the Sit-Down Experience for dinner. Combined bookings can be arranged on request.

Where is the Sit-Down Experience held?

At Tang Tea House, Changi Village — Block 1 Changi Village Road #01-2002, Singapore 500001. The venue is halal-certified and known for authentic local dishes.

Where does the Hawker Stall Experience take place?

Guests can choose one hawker stall from one district: Chinatown Complex, Tekka Centre (Little India), Kampong Glam / Golden Mile, East Coast Lagoon Food Village, or Old Airport Road Food Centre.

How do I book?

Bookings can be made directly on our website. Select your experience, fill in your details, and our team will confirm availability and send payment instructions.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, PayNow, and PayPal. Full payment is required to confirm booking.

Is there GST or service charge?

No hidden fees. Prices include all taxes and service charges.

Can I book for a private or group event?

Yes, private and corporate group bookings (8–20 guests) are available upon request. Email hello@singaporefoodtour.com for arrangements.

What is your cancellation policy?

Full refund for cancellations made 72 hours before your experience. Free rescheduling up to 48 hours before. No refund for cancellations within 48 hours.

Do you provide travel or public liability insurance?

No. Participants join at their own risk and are encouraged to hold their own travel insurance.

Are the venues licensed and safe?

Yes. Both Tang Tea House and our partner hawker stalls are licensed by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and meet hygiene standards.

What are the participation terms?

By booking, you acknowledge that participation is voluntary and at your own risk.

What if it rains or the weather is bad?

Sit-Down Experience: indoors. Hawker Centres are covered. In extreme weather, we relocate or reschedule at no cost.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes. We can accommodate vegetarian, halal, pescatarian, and no-beef/no-pork preferences.

Do you cater for severe food allergies?

Guests with severe allergies must inform us during booking. Cross-contamination may occur; participation is at your own risk.

Are ingredients explained during the tour?

Yes, hosts explain ingredients, origins, and cultural context. Guests may ask for clarification anytime.

Is alcohol served?

No alcohol is served at Tang Tea House. Drinks from stalls may be purchased separately.

Are beverages included?

Yes, local drinks are included. Premium drinks optional.

When should I arrive?

Arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled time. Tours begin promptly.

What should I wear?

Sit-Down Experience: smart casual. Hawker Stall Experience: light clothing and comfortable footwear.

Can I take photos or videos?

Yes, photography is welcome. Please be respectful to others. Professional filming requires prior approval.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

No outside food or drinks during the Sit-Down Experience. For Hawker Experience, you may buy from other stalls.

Do you accommodate birthdays or celebrations?

Yes. We can prepare a surprise dessert or simple decoration — mention it during booking.

Are children allowed?

Yes, children aged 10+ are welcome. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Tang Tea House and most hawker centres are wheelchair accessible.

Are restrooms available?

Yes, accessible restrooms are available at both venues.

What language is the experience conducted in?

All experiences are in English. Mandarin, Malay, or Tamil assistance available on request.

Is tipping required?

Tipping is optional and not expected in Singapore.

How do you ensure respect for local culture?

We collaborate directly with local hawkers and celebrate authentic Singapore heritage.

By joining, guests agree participation is voluntary and at their own risk. Organizers are not liable unless due to proven negligence.

How do you use my information?

We collect only essential data for booking and securely store it under Singapore’s PDPA.

Do you take photos for marketing?

We may take group photos with permission. Guests may opt out anytime by informing the host.
