1. General Information

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all bookings, purchases, and participation in the experiences provided by Singapore Food Tour (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By booking or participating in any Singapore Food Tour experience, you (“you”, “the guest”, “the participant”) agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms.

Please read them carefully before booking. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not proceed with your booking or participation.

We are an independent cultural food experience provider, not a travel agency or licensed tour operator under Singapore Tourism Board regulations.

3. Experience Options

Singapore Food Tour offers two distinct experiences:

  1. Sit-Down Hawker Heritage Experience – a 2-hour guided dining and storytelling session hosted at Tang Tea House, Changi Village.
  2. Hawker Stall Experience – a 1-hour guided tasting at one hawker stall in one district of the guest’s choosing.

All experiences are conducted in English unless otherwise arranged.

4. Booking and Payment

4.1 Booking Confirmation

All bookings must be made through our website or official booking partners. A booking is confirmed only after:

  • Submission of the booking form, and
  • Full payment received and confirmed by us.

4.2 Payment Methods

  • Credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • PayNow (for Singapore residents)
  • PayPal (for international guests)

4.3 Pricing

All prices are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and inclusive of applicable taxes and service charges. Prices are subject to change without prior notice; however, confirmed bookings will not be affected by subsequent price adjustments.

5. Cancellations, Refunds, and Changes

5.1 Guest Cancellations

  • Full refund if cancelled at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time.
  • Free rescheduling up to 48 hours before the experience.
  • No refund for cancellations or no-shows within 48 hours of the experience start time.

5.2 Operator Cancellations

We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify experiences due to:

  • Adverse weather conditions
  • Hawker or restaurant unavailability
  • Host illness or emergencies
  • Safety, health, or operational concerns

In such cases, you may choose between a full refund or rescheduling.

5.3 Refund Method

Refunds (where applicable) will be processed via the original payment method within 10 business days.

6. Participation Terms

6.1 Eligibility

  • The minimum age for participation is 10 years.
  • Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
  • Guests must be physically able to sit and dine independently or with minimal assistance.

6.2 Arrival and Timing

Guests must arrive at least 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late arrivals may result in missed portions of the experience without refund.

6.3 Behavior and Conduct

We reserve the right to remove any guest who behaves in a manner deemed disruptive, abusive, or unsafe. No refund will be issued in such cases.

6.4 Health and Fitness

Guests must ensure they are medically fit to consume local food and beverages. If you have any health conditions, dietary restrictions, or allergies, please inform us at the time of booking.

7. Dietary, Allergy, and Food Safety Disclaimer

7.1 Allergen Disclosure

While we strive to accommodate dietary needs, many hawker and restaurant kitchens use shared cooking equipment, oil, and preparation areas. We cannot guarantee that any dish will be completely free from allergens, including but not limited to:

  • Peanuts
  • Shellfish
  • Soy
  • Dairy
  • Gluten
  • Eggs

7.2 Guest Responsibility

Guests with severe or life-threatening allergies (e.g., anaphylaxis) participate entirely at their own risk. You are responsible for carrying your prescribed medication (e.g., EpiPen).

7.3 Medical Disclaimer

We are not medical professionals and do not provide medical advice. Guests are advised to consult their healthcare provider before participating if they have health concerns.

7.4 Food Hygiene

All partner restaurants and hawker stalls are licensed by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and maintain at least a Grade A or B hygiene rating.

8. Safety & Liability

8.1 Assumption of Risk

Participation in the Singapore Food Tour involves inherent risks associated with food consumption, public spaces, and travel. By booking, you agree to participate at your own risk.

8.2 No Insurance Coverage

Singapore Food Tour does not provide public liability, personal accident, or travel insurance. You are strongly encouraged to obtain your own travel insurance covering illness, injury, or cancellation.

8.3 Waiver of Liability

By joining the tour, you agree that Singapore Food Tour, its owners, hosts, and partners shall not be held liable for:

  • Injury, illness, or death resulting from food consumption, allergies, or accidents
  • Loss or damage to personal property
  • Delays, weather disruptions, or third-party service failures

except in cases of proven gross negligence.

8.4 Release of Claims

You waive all claims against Singapore Food Tour arising from participation, except where prohibited by Singapore law.

9. Photography, Media & Privacy

9.1 Photography During Experiences

Guests are welcome to take personal photos and short videos. We occasionally take group or atmosphere photos for social media or marketing purposes.

9.2 Consent

By attending, you consent to non-identifiable photos being used for marketing. You may opt out by informing your host or emailing us.

9.3 Data Collection

We collect only essential personal data (name, contact, dietary preferences) for booking purposes. We comply with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and do not sell or share your information with third parties.

10. Dress Code and Etiquette
  • Sit-Down Experience: Smart casual attire recommended.
  • Hawker Stall Experience: Comfortable shoes and light clothing suggested due to Singapore’s climate.
  • Please show respect toward hawkers, staff, and other guests at all times.
11. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Acts of nature (e.g., floods, lightning, haze)
  • Public health emergencies
  • Transportation disruptions
  • Government regulations or venue closures

In such cases, guests may choose to reschedule or receive a full refund.

12. Intellectual Property

All written content, tour scripts, menus, and materials used during the Singapore Food Tour are the intellectual property of the company. They may not be copied, recorded, or reproduced for commercial use without prior written consent.

13. Complaints & Disputes
  1. Please inform your host immediately so we can address the issue.
  2. If unresolved, email hello@singaporefoodtour.com within 7 days of your tour date.

We aim to respond to all complaints within 10 business days. All disputes shall be governed by the laws of Singapore, and parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes will take effect immediately upon posting to our website. The version in effect at the time of your booking will apply to your participation.
